Robert A. Erich, Jr. (Rob) is the President and co-founder of Select* Associates, Inc. Prior to founding Select* Associates, Rob was the President of TMC, Inc., a leading producer of law-firm oriented business software, where he created the Legal Management System (LMS), a time-and-billing software package.

Rob is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Maryland Association of CPAs. Rob is a Certified Computing Professional (CCP) and a member of the Institute of Certified Computing Professionals. He is a graduate of the University of Maryland.

Jon H. GrubeJon H. Grube
Vice President of Research and Development, Co-Founder

Jon Grube is a co-founder of Select* Associates, Inc. and the chief architect of its flagship products star*collect, *Bill, and star*time. He has considerable experience in the design, development, and implementation of database, time-and-billing, and practice support software for law firms and other professional organizations.

Jon joined TMC, provider of the LMS time and billing system, in 1985 as the Director of Product Development and served on TMC’s Board of Directors. Jon was responsible for the continued enhancement and design of the LMS product, as well as the design and development of TMC’s QWIK-SCAN conflicts and practice/litigation support system.

Jon received his B.A. in Economics from the University of Michigan in 1969 and a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in 1974. Prior to his programming days, Jon was a trial lawyer practicing in the State of Maryland with a major concentration in insurance defense, products liability, and maritime law. He joined Smith Somerville & Case in 1975 and became a partner in 1980. Jon has been a member of the bar of the State of Maryland since 1974. He is also a member of the Maryland State Bar Association and the Baltimore City Bar Association.

James A. Nitzberg
Executive Vice President

James A. Nitzberg (Jim) is the Executive Vice President at Select* Associates, Inc. and is responsible for Custom Software Development, Technical Consulting, and other special projects. In addition, Jim directs the sales process and works closely with the software product team to assure our products remain up-to-date and competitive in the marketplace.

Jim’s experience in the legal industry began in 1983 at Truax, Inc. as the Senior Software Developer for The Legal Consortium, a time accounting/billing application for law firms. Jim then worked for TMC, provider of the LMS time and billing system, where he held various positions including Director of Research and Development, Director of Technology, and Senior Sales Engineer. Prior to his legal accounting automation career, Jim created image processing and enhancement software for the University of Delaware’s Electrical Engineering department and wrote system control

Jim received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Delaware in 1985 with a specialty in Digital Systems Design.
